About EWG

Founded April 1, 2019, our objective is to be an exciting and interesting writers group that will inspire local writers, or anyone curious about writing, to improve their skills and increase their knowledge and understanding of the craft.

Elgin Writers Guild welcomes anyone interested in a professional approach to the art of writing. Our members range from raw beginners to accomplished authors. We write everything from fiction, nonfiction, poetry, mystery, sci-fi/fantasy and memoir, to news and academic papers.

The Guild was inspired by the Windon Fund within the Elgin-St. Thomas Community Foundation, and works closely with the St. Thomas Public Library, a hub for many of our meetings and activities.

Executive Members:

President – Terry Carroll

Vice President – James Miller

Treasurer – Trudy Prins

Member-At-Large – Peter Bloch-Hansen
